Night Angel Holding a Waning Moon by William Morris

Night Angel Holding a Waning Moon by William Morris (born 24 March 1834)

“So age succeeds age, and dream succeeds dream, and the joy of the dreamer no man knoweth but he who dreameth. Our fathers had their dreams; we have ours; the generation that follows will have its own. Without dreams and phantoms, man cannot exist.”-The Story of An African Farm, Olive Schreiner (born 24 march 1855)

Daily Diversion #257: Rainy Day Activities

Thursday was beautiful and sunny. Today…well, today is rainy and dreary. Never fear, for I have a plan: lounge around, read, eat some oatmeal, read. Nap. Repeat.

Poetry in Art: I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold by Charles Demuth

Charles Demuth’s fabulous painting, I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold, was inspired by his friend William Carlos Williams’ poem, The Great Figure.  The artwork is full of references to the poem and poet.

It’s always nice to see artists inspiring other artists, especially when they work in different mediums.
