The last few days have been pretty stressful, so on Saturday I popped in to the fabulous bakery that’s just around the corner from my day job. I saved this scrumptious scone for this morning’s breakfast. Between it, a cup of my fave tea, and a good book…I’m feeling a tad better.

Even though I’m a writer, I’m horrible at keeping a journal. I want to go back and edit my work, which defeats the purpose of keeping a diary. It doesn’t take long for my perfectionism to turn into frustration. I’m sure you can guess what always happens next.
This one line a day journal is perfect for me, though. It’s practical, low-pressure, and pretty. I call that a win!

The State Auto Christmas Corner nativity is a decades-long tradition in downtown Columbus. My mom lives around the corner from the display. We walked over on a recent rainy evening to meander through the scenes. The Angel Speaks to Mary is one of them.
