What was “Before Marilyn” like? It’s interesting because she was so intelligent but her public persona messed up people’s concept of her as this. Then it ended up isolating her because people didn’t understand the true person was something else right? What did you get from that book?

I’ve been slowly reading it, and it is wonderful. Amazing photos and text that acknowledges her good qualities, such as her intelligence, determination, and professionalism.

She was pretty extraordinary, but most reports and writing about her don’t frame her with the full range of traits she had and actions she took. Sad, but there is some stuff on that. Sounds like this touched upon that? 🙂
