A Small Press Life is being hit hard by spambots this week (99% of which is caught by the spam filter, fortunately). These are my 3 faves from today, and my responses to them:
- Hello,My name is Job and Iβm a professional fraenelce writer with 3 years of experience. ( (Nice to meet you, Job. Perhaps you could give me some tips on fraenelcing?)
- Boom shlakaaka boom boom, problem solved. (Boom boom, indeed.)
- I much prefer inrfamotive articles like this to that high brow literature. (I think you are on the wrong site, dude. 90% of what I write about is high brow literature, although I try to be as inrfamotive as possible).

Is that you, Spambot? (It’s actually opera singer Titta Ruffo, dressed up as a clown. Circa 1913.)
Priceless! I remember being a naΓ―ve newbie and, at first, feeling sorry for who I thought were real people. These were awesome…and makes me think…I don’t even have Spambots visiting these days π

Thanks, Michelle!
In your defense, some of the more subtle spambots almost use normal human words in normal human ways. π Then, there are these.
The spambots have gotten out of control on my site the last few days; two have even made it past the spam filter.

Thanks! The spambots have been working overtime this week. There have been so many! I’m usually thoroughly annoyed by them, but these 3 were so absurd/stupid/odd/hilarious that I had to share them. It was my sacred duty as a blogger! I think my annoyance made me extra quick-witted today.

Ahahaha… boom shakalakalaka boom! I should have also published my own spam comments instead of just deleted them. They’re so funny (but sometimes irritating). π

I normally ignore them (before pressing the delete button), but this morning’s crop were more absurd than usual! Not to mention plentiful. You can always share any future nuggets of spam wisdom. π

Yes, I never received something like the ones you got there. Very colorful. Haha. I hardly get them now. I don’t know if it has something to do with the spam app not allowing them at onset. π Oh yes, could use nuggets of spam wisdom once in a while. π

I usually get a couple dozen a week, tops. This week has been different, though. I’ve deleted probably 200. It’s frustrating, but at least a few of them have been hilarious!
