Once upon a time, he was just a serious little gentleman.

  1. He IS a serious little gentleman!

When I was in high school, there was a girl in the grade ahead who carried “A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man” with her for well over six months. She carried it EVERYWHERE; every time I saw her, she was holding that book. To this day, every time I see Joyce’s name, I think of that girl and her devotion to his novel.

    • Yes, he is…and seriously cute!

I first read Joyce in high school, too, and certainly enjoyed that book. It’s too funny that she carried it everywhere for six months, though. It’s kind of hilarious, actually. I was definitely guilty of carrying non-required reading books around school, but I had a new one every few days.
