I didn’t discover her work until I was in my early twenties, but I’ve loved it ever since. 🙂 I’m about to start reading a biography about her. Hope it’s a good one. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply ↓
She was an interesting lady, born (like T. S. Eliot) in my hometown, Saint Louis. She was a Nixon fan, which somehow seems to contradict being a poet in my mind. 😉 There’s a great interview from The Paris Review, ca.1960: http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/4637/the-art-of-poetry-no-4-marianne-moore LikeLike
Yes, she was quite interesting…to put it mildly. Sometimes very frustrating and off-putting, but never boring. So many 20th-century poets were a bit (or a lot) on the conservative side. It seems weird, but there it is anyway. T.S. Eliot…The poet, yes! The man, no! He just rubs me the wrong way. I’ll check out the interview! Thanks so much for the link. LikeLike

Cut my poetic teeth on Ms. Moore. Have a thing for gravity, too. 😉
Love it.
