I’ve been listening to a lot of music by Erik Satie, Arnold Schoenberg, and Benjamin Britten.

Portrait of Erik Satie by Suzanne Valadon, 1893.

Arnold Schoenberg Seated by Richard Gerstl, circa 1905-1906. Vienna Museum.

I adore the GymnopĂ©dies. Have you ever seen the original scores? They’re a hoot. Surreal.

I’m glad I’m not the only one in the world who occasionally puts on Schoenberg, though I’ll admit that these days if I listen to early 20th century music it’s usually Stravinsky or Debussy.

I do listen to Schoenberg from time to time, although I’ve been on something of a kick recently. I also love Debussy and Stravinsky!
