Please pay attention to me!
Mr. Crosley does not like it when I work for more than 10 minutes at a time. He does not care that I have writing and editing projects to tackle. He just wants his ears rubbed and his tummy stroked. “Dead writers, schmed writers. Give me a treat. Please!”
He might also be saying “When are you going to write about me? Like in a book?” My dogs were never happy just being in the studio with me. They always wanted to be somewhere else.

He loves to sit at my feet when I am writing, but because he is lazy/has a fear of certain stairs/ a mildly arthritic hip, he does not make the climb up to the second floor. I work downstairs when I can, and I still get the pity face! He very much just wants to be near us, it does not matter what we are doing.

You are his whole life. This breed is a big lovable teddy bear usually. Is he an old dog? I can relate to the arthritis. Wait until he starts whining when you are upstairs.

Oh, he progressed from whining to barking weeks ago. He is only 6, but he is a (large) lab. Large labs get joint problems. He is on some new treats, which are meant to help with that.

He has his priorities straight. Live things before dead:)

True, but if he had his way he would be coddled, loved on, and plumped up with treats 24/7. As it is, most days he gets a good 7 or 8 hours of my attention. And that is just from me! Do not pity him. 🙂

Haha. He needs a pet!

Ha, that is an awesome suggestion! I would get him a stuffed buddy of some sort, but his brother Duncan would just tear it apart and eat it within a day or two.
