It is kind of fun to think of Lawrence shimmying up those Mulberry trees…As for Porter, well, methinks the old lady found shocking her guests quite amusing.

I think Lawrence’s nude tree-climbing habit was a bit unusual (and would certainly be considered so today). As for everyone else, I will just call them mildly eccentric.

Katherine Anne Porter’s coffin made me uncomfortable, but it does have bright, cheery flowers.
Loved the editor’s comment about Dickens resembling a Newfoundland dog.

My husband likes to be wrapped in blankets and covered with couch cushions when he is sick, so I believe the Kant obsession!
