“The earth has music for those who listen.”-George Santayana

“Flowers…are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world.”-Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature –the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”-Rachel Carson
That is pointed out to me every morning – I am listening to the birds outside the window right now.

Even I have birds outside my urban window. It’s nice.

Yes, but they are pigeons, right? Not the same, maedez. Ha!

Haha, no! There are actual non-pigeon birds in urban areas. We have small songbirds that dwell in the trees outside our flat. They are melodious.

Those songbirds are probably distracting you from your writing. I have to remind our birds of the hours permitted for their raucous singing.

Only if I let them! Fortunately, I work best amidst lots of noise. 🙂

Enjoyed the photographs’ delicate use of color in the first two, as well as the apt quotes. And we have tons of birds including woodpeckers in our urban NW neighborhood. But nature rules this city, happily.
I will return to your blog! Thank you for liking my post, as well.

Thank you! The pics are from a cemetery, in case you didn’t know. It is lovely and peaceful there. In late spring and summer it is blooming with vibrant colour, so I will return often over the coming months. I live in a very nature-friendly city, which I love. It’s the best of both worlds, really.
It was my pleasure. I plan on reading more of your blog as soon as I have the chance.

I love seeing the first bit of green in the spring. It’s so optimistic, as Rachel Carson says.

I do, too. It seemed like a longer than average wait this year.
