The other week I saw director Oliver Stone “In Conversation” at a nearby arts facility. During the Q&A, he called Ebert “one of the great movie critics”. He said Ebert always strove to understand what the filmmaker was saying and never took cheap shots.
Thanks for posting these obits. The world feels a little empty this week, no?
Yeah, it does feel a bit empty. Especially since Ebert died just a day after announcing the return of his cancer. Too sad. I agree with Stone, by the way.
Loved her movies and didn’t even know who wrote them. Thanks! Always loved Roger Ebert. Used to watch Siskel and Ebert and had a great time doing so.
