I cannot get over the fact that it is possible to have one favourite book. My mind is blown. What was the question again?
This bafflement is in response to the Daily Prompt: Judgment Day. If you were to judge your favourite book by its cover, would you still read it?
I’m glad you said that. Exactly my response when I read it earlier.
Last night, someone here asked me what my three favourite books were. Not a clue. I started writing a list and got to about 30 before I stopped.

I am glad that someone else agrees with me! Trying to choose my top 50 favourite books would be a slippery slope.

I don’t think I can pick one favorite book. But, I know I wouldn’t be able to judge my favorite book(s) by their covers.

There is no way I could; that is not even in the realm adjacent to possibility. I agree about the covers. I love certain books way too much.

The thing about my favourite books is that I have come to love their covers just because I love them.

Remember that old saw “don’t judge a book by its cover”? Some covers are absolutely wonderful but it’s what is inside that matters. Also – remember the tacky book cover blog you posted awhile back? Those you can be sure you won’t like even if you did read them.

Oh, yes, I will NEVER forget about that blog.

I am not sure, if I were to judge a fave book by its cover, if I would read it. I know this is shallow, but if the cover looks too boring or weird, I am not an inclined to pick it up.
Having said that, I am drawn to covers with really bad graphic design. It’s like a moth to flame – I can’t help it!

If it is a classic that I love, then a new/bad cover is entirely immaterial to me. If it is something more contemporary that I’ve never read, then I will totally judge it by its cover.
