10 Literary Board Games for Book Nerds [courtesy of Flavorwire]
I’ve never really liked board games, but I’d be willing to give most of these a whirl*. A few even look a bit exciting. Which ones would you play?
*Especially with a drink in hand. Don’t judge me.
I love the idea of a 1984/Animal Farm board game. Like you, I’m not a board game person (don’t get me started about Life), but these were great. Thanks for sharing.

I was surprised to find myself liking this idea. Who knew I would ever want to play a board game? I’m with you on Life, and Monopoly, too. I swear that is one never-ending game.

I like “A Christmas Carol”. I think that would be a lot of fun! Aaand I would probably have a Wild Blue (blueberry) lager in my hand! 🙂

Mmmm, blueberry beer is yummy! I think I would adapt my drink of choice to each game. There’s a post idea in here somewhere. After all, drinking and literature is a classic mix! 🙂

“Pride And Prejudice” the board game for my romantic heart and “A Christmas Carol” for my Christmas spirit.

I’ve actually had my eye on the Pride and Prejudice game for awhile, and I don’t even like games. I’d never seen the others before, though. I think A Christmas Carol would be ideal for a cold December evening, with some egg nog.

Hot chocolate for me 😉

I usually go for hot chocolate, too. I’m not sure why I wrote egg nog, it just seemed appropriate. Maybe because I had a teensy glass on Christmas.

lol, I’ve only had egg nog once and it was when I was little. Perhaps I should give it another chance. Is it sad that I already want to plan a Christmas party?

No, not at all. Especially if it involves that A Christmas Carol game, hot chocolate, egg nog, charades. Now I am in planning mode!

I found it for sale here: http://ashgrovepress.com/Pride_and_Prejudice.html
I’ve never purchased anything from them, but it is the only place I have been able to find it. Good luck!

This is a great collection of board games! Sadly, the only people in my family who will play board games with me are my nieces, so I would be relegated to the Pride and Prejudice game. Because the object is the first one to become a bride. Sigh.

I am not into board games, never really was. But if I ever change my mind, I will play one of these.
Oh, hopefully your nieces will grow out of that soon! If this board game existed when I was a kid, I would have played it because it was Jane Austen-based. I was a book nerd even then. I had no interest in marriage or babies as a child. Thank goodness.
