I used to be obsessed with hockey during my teen years! My best friend and I even made cookies that looked like each player on the Ranger team, went to a game and gave them the cookies in a box painted with a Stanley Cup with each of their names on it. Sure they thought these two 12-year-old girls were crazy–crazy in love!
We played roller hockey because no one could afford going to an ice rink and I was pretty great at it. LOL.
I’ve been a HUGE sports fanatic since I was a wee lass, but I’ve never had big crushes on any of the players. It’s always been about the game for me, even when I was a pre-teen/teen. Maybe I’ve been missing out? 🙂
My husband and I are big hockey fans. He’s a Jets fan, and I am a Blue Jackets gal. The Jets are my second fave team, though, and, truth be told, Byfuglien edges out Bobrovsky as my fave hockey player.
I was more an outdoorsy dreamer than sports fan as a kid, but hockey basically saved my life. When I had my whole eating disorder thing no one knew what was wrong with me.
One night I watched a hockey game and then the next day started playing hockey with my brother. It became a very positive obsession. Every day after school we’d play for hours with teams from other streets in our neighborhood.
All of that crazy physical activity changed my mental state 🙂

Yes, I took this photo. We definitely had amazing seats! Three rows up from the ice, just right of center ice.
