YES!!!!!!!! I agree. And wanted to, but I hope she died in peace and was happy at the end of this life. Weird to say, but I think she more than earned that.
I read “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” as a young gal and it kind of blew my mind. I’m ashamed to say I’d never read anything by a female African-American author who also recounted her experiences with such raw honesty. I’ll never forget that experience of reading that book, which was like reading about another planet, and I’ll be always grateful.
