In all of the years that I’ve written about old movies, I’ve never done an essay about Shirley Temple…but that doesn’t mean I don’t love her. She was, and will always be, a star.

Shirley Temple in the full bloom of her stardom. She died yesterday, at 85.
I grew up on her movies, and always admired her. Thanks for writing about her.

I did, too. She was perfection. My pleasure, and thanks for stopping by!

What an adorable photo! She was impossibly cute as a child.
I admire her no end. To survive Hollywood, a bad marriage and cancer – and who knows what else – and still desire to make the world a better place is the hallmark of a remarkable individual.
Today is a sad day.

She was the pinnacle of cute.
She definitely made a lasting mark on the world in multiple ways. She’ll never be forgotten.
What a sad day, indeed! Today, it is Sid Caesar. Sigh.

Yes! He was even older than Shirley Temple, but still. Ugh.
