Times have changed – now you have to have a social media presence. We can still work in silence and obscurity but then your work would truly not be known at all. I wish I could work in silence and obscurity. Although my husband made a little sign for my door yesterday: “Artist at Work”. This after my love’s umpteenth interruption.
I agree with what you about the social media presence, but I also believe that for many of us working and creating even in this 21st century that our biggest reward is in the genesis and formation of our projects. Everything else is extra, even ultimately unnecessary to our well being.
