I’m partial to the one of Doris Lessing because there’s a kitty in it. But I also like the ones of Dorothy Parker, Edith Wharton, Alice B. Sheldon (she looks so intense!), and Agatha Christie.
Kitties used to step on typewriters instead of laptops. I like the one of Agatha Christie in full writing regalia of the Order of English Women Writers.
I have to say when I saw the photo of Anne Frank, I felt a little stop in my heart – she seems happy in the photo. She probably would have become a writer as she was already well on her way.
I cannot believe how much Agatha Christie looks like Miss Marple from the 19602 British movie series. I think the actress’ name was Margaret Rutherford…?

The Alice B. Sheldon one if my favourite, probably because it so perfectly plays into my glamorous writer fantasy.

Indeed they did. Christie definitely lives up to one’s idea of what a 20th century English writer looked like.

Pen and paper and manual typewriters. No computers. Love it!!

It looks so much more hands-on, doesn’t it?

She does seem happy here, and quite charming. I agree that she probably would have become a writer, and an excellent one at that.
