This week has been a busy one. In addition to the Fourth of July holiday, The Chef and I hosted our first out-of-town guests. My studio is still a work-in-progress. I never thought it would take a month and counting to get organized. I will keep pushing through until it is precisely what I need it to be. Regular posting will resume on Monday, with more in-depth content following a week later. I would promise the return of book reviews, [R]evolving Incarnations, etc. sooner but, alas, dear readers, this is my birthday week. I made a pact with myself to step back and fully enjoy the turning of a new decade. Until then, here is a look at my not-very-literary or productive week. Enjoy!
Those drapes and boots are fabulous. I just bought new rain boots today (sign of non-adulthood) but I did buy a much needed lamp yesterday so maybe I’m halfway there. : )

I love rain boots, and wholeheartedly endorse said purchase! My husband bought the drapes (IKEA) and the boots. He has great taste. 🙂

Love the boots – they would go very well here and in Arizona. Very happy birthday to you, maedez. You will look back after a long life and be pleased with what you have accomplished.

They are my first pair of cowboy-esque shoes. I love them! Thank you so much for your sweet words. The big day is tomorrow!

And today is my husband’s birthday – he got a little book titled “Cairns, Messengers in Stone” because he builds cairns when he hikes in the desert. Someday he may need them to find his way home.

Happy birthday to your husband. We are near-birth mates. That little books sounds really cool, and what a fascinating hobby your husband has.

Thanks, maedez. He is a wonderful man. I scolded him gently about getting coffee rings on the book already but then I remembered I have coffee rings on a book I am re-reading. They are “working” books.

You are welcome! I live in fear of inflicting any damage, however minute, on a new book. Once it has happened, though, I relax and never worry again about “loving” a book too much. I love that phrase, Judy. I just might have to use “working” books in a post (with all nods to you, of course).
