You can imagine how much I drew as a child, maedez. There was nothing better to me than new crayons or pencils and a drawing tablet. I was constantly drawing but nothing survives that I know of. I would love to see it now.
Oh, yes I can! It sounds like you always wanted to be an artist…
Too bad nothing survives. About 10 years ago my mom gave me a few of my childhood drawings. So interesting to see those things. I still have them, too.
One picture – of a dancing girl created when I was about 6. I love its energy and playfulness. Like all childhood drawings it was done without much thought or worry!

I can’t think of anything else that shows what a child is thinking than a drawing he/she has done.

You are lucky to have that one picture. I imagine that most people do not have any. It sounds delightful.

Oh god yes and it’s still hanging framed on my mother’s wall. A very colorful crayon rendition of a smiling wizard.

That is awesome. My mom has never framed mine, but she did give me a few of my childhood drawings 6 or 7 years ago. I plan on keeping them forever.

I gasped at Charlotte Bronte’s sketch. Incredible! I also loved the detail that 8 year-old Sylvia Plath put into her fashion designs.
My fave, though, is the e.e. cummings Wild West Show. Look at that great cowboy outfit!

I’ve seen the Charlotte Bronte sketch before, probably in a bio. It is lovely!
Cummings’ Wild West Show is so adorable.
