  1. June on Prince Edward Island (I had a honeymoon of bitterness since I already knew the marriage was wrong) . . .BUT the island of LM Montgomery’s fiction was the most enchanting place I’d ever visited with purple-hued lupines growing wildly along every roadside and the ocean with its red beaches coming into view now and again. It’s a sad place, too; a forgotten place that once had a bustling farm community now littered with old houses and train depots falling into disrepair. Anne of Green Gables . . . sigh.

    • I came so close to going there on a vacation with my mom and brother 9 years ago. We ended up striking it from our itinerary since we were already spending nearly 3 weeks in Canada. Now I really wish we had made it there, as your description is lovely 😦

I also had a honeymoon of bitterness with my ex-husband. Unfortunately, I did not get a vacation on PEI out of it.

  2. I loved Anne of Green Gables so much I wanted to believe she was real and all the characters were real. I wanted to live in Montgomery’s house which is preserved beautifully. There were three young women from Japan who did not speak a word of English when we were there. I don’t know how they got to P.E.I. and knew where they were going. Apparently, the Anne books were extremely popular in Japan. One of the best vacations, if not the best, I have ever had.

    • Now I am doubly sad we did not make the side trip there. You make it sound so divine and lovely. Next time for sure!

I am never surprised by how people from all over the world are affected or moved by the same works of art, literature, film, or music. They are great connectors all. 🙂
