On his way home from Indiana, I hope. For two golden, precious days he’s mine again. Until then, I am jittery with anticipation. I cannot sit still. I cannot write. All I can do is smile.

Me, too. Although, believe it or not, The Chef and I aren’t actually romantic people.

Maedez, you are so romantic about things that so many other people have no affinity or appreciation for. I don’t think of romance as some crush soon gone and forgotten; it is a story, it is obsession, it is passion.

That is an interesting take, and one I had never considered before. I am definitely not the flowers/candy/candlelight type (and delightfully neither is the husband), so it never occurred to me that I reserve romance for other things. Truly, truly interesting! Thank you!!

I am not, nor is my husband the romantic type either, maedez. It seems that the flower/candy/ route does not melt my cold, cold heart. Bringing me a found bird’s egg or doing something for me totally unexpected makes him my hero.

I agree, Judy! Spontaneous acts are better, and so is being a considerate person every day. We do not celebrate V-Day. I do not even have an engagement ring. He proposed to me standing on a sidewalk downtown, no bells or whistles. It was perfect.

Well, we did. He was home for a whopping 48 hours; he left this morning at 4:30! He’ll be out of town 5 days this time…

It must be hard. Jack travelled constantly a few years ago. It was difficult … but worth it in the end. 🙂

Oh, it is definitely hard but, as you say, worth it in the end. His out of state training ends a week from Thursday; he’ll do the rest across the river in KY. Only 15 minutes away. Whew! We are both looking forward to that.
