A few Sundays ago, I was served ice cream by a dragon and enthralled by the mad ravings of an alchemist. A girl from the Wild West sold me a steampunk dragonfly necklace and faeries tried to lure me into their grotto.
Okay, so the dragon was really a tubby middle-aged man in a crushed velvet costume and green Crocs, the Western heroine was just a sales lady with a bad accent and the faeries…oh, who knows their deal?
Which leaves us with…
It was a strange day. Thank goodness for icy cold (hard) cider.

Doktor Kaboom looks like he alone would be the price of admission. I checked out his website where, of course, he offers Doktor Kaboom swag. I love things like this!

We were pleased to find that he uses a lot of adult humour (that goes over the kiddies’ heads). I usually really hate shows at festivals, but his act is pretty good. He ended up being the highlight of the day. Not that he had any competition, really, but he was quite funny.

Love the photo! Reminds me of a festival we have around here–The Renaissance Festival. It’s really neat–everyone dresses up and they sell cool stuff, like wands and corsets. 🙂

Yes, this was a RenFest! We always go to the one here in Ohio, which has been going on for about 25 years. We decided to go to the Kentucky one, which is only in its 7th year. It was different, and largely wanting. They have a ways to go! I bought a really cool necklace, so it was not a complete waste. 🙂

Ha, I love characters like Doktor! (People can be so delightfully strange.) And speaking of ciders, I just had Lindemans Framboise, which is a beer from Belgium and basically tastes like a berry cider! Soooo good. I’d recommend trying it!

He is definitely a character! I must admit that he was pretty entertaining. I’ve actually had Lindemans Framboise, although not for a couple of years. It is so hot here that I wouldn’t mind having some right now (well, maybe in a few hours).
