I love bookish goodies almost as much as I love actual books, and reading. Being a bookworm is not a hobby: it is an all-enveloping, personality-defining lifestyle. The holiday season is just getting started, which means it is time to go shopping the literary way! Over the next two weeks, I will take you on a virtual bookish shopping spree to some of my favourite lit sites!

I cannot say enough nice things about these miniature dolls. Are they extremely weird? Sure! Are they also the most awesome little keepsakes ever? Possibly! Artist Debbie Ritter manages to give her creations the personalities of her real-life subjects. There are 251 author dolls available in her shop, as well as those embodying literary characters, celebrities, musicians, artists, and historical figures.

No way! I didn’t realize. I have a friend who adores them – quotes them all the time. I think he’d really love these dolls. I’m seriously thinking of getting them for him.

I know that at least some full episodes are.
How do I know this, you ask? Well, earlier this year I visited my mom for a couple of weeks. I watched several episodes of a Canadian sitcom with her on Hulu (she doesn’t have television, just the internet). I immediately recognized that one of the supporting players guest starred on an episode of GG. I knew which episode, as well as the character he played. This episode was 20+ years ago, and I hadn’t seen this man since. Anywhoo, I pulled the episode up on YouTube to show her what he looked like back in the day, and we watched the whole thing. My life: sometimes it is pathetic.

Haha! I am glad that my ability to recognize, 20+ years later, an obscure-to-Americans actor who played a Jeopardy tryouts moderator on an episode of GG might still come in handy! Wooot-wooot!
