I’m one who couldn’t get through Moby Dick. I tried to like it, and I admired his patience in telling such a story – along with his mad writing skills – but when I got to page 185 and the ship had NOT YET LEFT THE HARBOUR, I put it down. I’m too impatient.

‘Tis the truth…which isn’t to say that I dislike his writing. I’m just not super duper peachy keen on it.

He writes beautifully, don’t get me wrong. He just takes awhile to get to the point.

I kept waiting for Moby Dick to get good–great writing but I just didn’t care–at all. The drawing is great though.

Yeah, his writing is wonderful. But, I am with you about not caring.

I am with you. He is an excellent writer. Really, truly. But, for the most part, his books bore me.
Also, that is an excellent description of how slow Moby Dick is.
