It’s no secret that I am skeptical of the Baz Luhrmann adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Since it is set for a Christmas Day release, we will be inundated with ads for another 6+ months. Now that we have seen the trailer I am, for the most part, content to turn my back on the growing hullabaloo surrounding the movie. Instead, I’m going to re-focus on the book. What a concept, right? In that vein, this Shopping for the Bookworm is dedicated to all things F. Scott Fitzgerald/Gatsby. Enjoy!

F. Scott Fitzgerald Silhouette Profile Portrait by Hello Grey Day. $12.00
I love silhouettes. They are appealingly quaint. Why not combine that with a literary subject, so that I have two of my favourite things in one?

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Miniature Pendant Necklace by My Evil Friend. $12.00
You may have noticed that I love bookish accessories. What a stylish way to advertise your love of literature. Another excellent combo!

The Great Gatsby Book Cover Print by illuminant pale. $17.00
I love the stark quality of this print. It would make a great addition to most interiors. Including my studio.

Poster The Great Gatsby by Claudia Varosio. $18.93
Another print, but one with an entirely different look. Yellow and grey are a lovely, 1920s-era colour combo.

The Great Gatsby Book Cover Iphone 4/4s Case by CaseGarage. $16.57
This is the best phone case ever. Okay, maybe I should dial back on the hyperbole a bit. But it is stunning-and yet another way to quietly advertise your love of reading.

The Great Gatsby 5×7 Matte Print by Skiesdreamblue. $9.00
Okay, I’ve slightly gone back on my word with this one. It is inspired by Carey Mulligan as Daisy. I love it, I’m not going to lie! The novel would be nothing without Daisy, so this is an appropriate addition. In fact, I like it enough that I just made it mine!
Inappropriate Tee Shirt Bonus:

I Want to F. Scott Fitzgerald Womens Tee by Ten East Read. $20.00
I laughed out loud, then decided there is no way I would wear this. Hmmm, I think I was wrong. I would totally wear this. I cannot resist Book Nerd Humour.
How fabulous is this! I want the pendant, the prints, and the iPhone cover. 😀

Thanks! I want everything, too! I had to force myself to stop at the Daisy print. And I easily could have made the list twice as long. 🙂

I love it, and would almost think better of anyone who would wear it. It is on my radar now. I have a feeling I am going to break down and buy one this summer!

I haven’t read the Great Gatsby in 30 years; this is a good excuse to pick up a copy and read it again

Any excuse to read the Great Gatsby is a good excuse! I haven’t read it in a few years, but plan on changing that soon (especially since I have 2 copies, for some reason).
