March is a transitional month: the weather, seasons, and reading habits are all in flux. For me, the latter has been a big disappointment. I still haven’t been able to get my reading pace up to its normal levels. Oh, well! There’s always April!

I just finished “Sarah’s Key” by Tatiana de Rosnay, very sad book, but wow, so many emotions 🙂
I’m reading now “Hausfrau” by Jill Alexander Essbaum and I can say that, as a woman, it’s one of the strongest “I can relate” feeling I have ever had, I am so much like this character, it’s scary :))) – give it a shot, I think it’s worth it

The book is kind of dark but I love how the storyteller transports the reader into her very introspective mind. It’s worth reading 🙂

Right now, I’m reading The Mothers by Brit Bennett. My guilty pleasure read last week was Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins. I surprisingly enjoyed it enough that I grabbed the sequel, Breathless, that came out a couple of months ago. Looks like I won’t get to The Red Car by Marcy Dermasky until next month.

Yes! I enjoyed The Red Car – quick read last week – and The Mothers was a very interesting tale. I’ll get to Breathless later in the month. About to start on a book by a local author, Sadeqa Johnson.

I trudged through Leni Riefenstahl’s memoirs, which actually had interesting info about movie-making in Berlin back in the day. I’m currently reading Farley Mowat’s “Sibir”, about his trips to Siberia in the 1960s. Mowat is such a pleasure to read.

I bet that “trudged” is about right. Immensely talented and dynamic lady, with pretty abhorrent beliefs and actions. But, the movie-making aspect sounds wonderful.
I’ve never read anything by Farley Mowat, but will definitely add this to my list. It sounds mighty interesting.
