March is a transitional month: the weather, seasons, and reading habits are all in flux. For me, the latter has been a big disappointment. I still haven’t been able to get my reading pace up to its normal levels. Oh, well! There’s always April!
Since 1st March, I’ve read:
- I Loved Her in the Movies: Memories of Hollywood’s Legendary Actresses by Robert Wagner and Scott Eyman
I’m currently reading:
- Hot from Harlem: Twelve African American Entertainers, 1890-1960 by Bill Reed
- You Must Remember This: Life and Style in Hollywood’s Golden Age by Robert Wagner and Scott Eyman
I promise to do better in April!
What is your favorite book this month?
Which book on your list do you most look forward to reading?

Happy reading.
I’m reading a book about Moura Budberg written by a local writer – A Very Dangerous Woman: The Lives, Loves and Lies of Russia’s Most Seductive Spy. Rather good.

I’m reading a lot of Beauty and the Beast variations right now. The movie has inspired me. Your books sound really interesting.

I just started Woman with a Gun and I’m into a book about Louise Nevelson.

Great title! And a book about Louise Nevelson sounds right up my alley.

I just finished “Sarah’s Key” by Tatiana de Rosnay, very sad book, but wow, so many emotions 🙂
I’m reading now “Hausfrau” by Jill Alexander Essbaum and I can say that, as a woman, it’s one of the strongest “I can relate” feeling I have ever had, I am so much like this character, it’s scary :))) – give it a shot, I think it’s worth it

I’ll have to take a look at “Hausfrau.” That’s quite the recommendation.

The book is kind of dark but I love how the storyteller transports the reader into her very introspective mind. It’s worth reading 🙂

I might not get to it for awhile, but I’ll definitely add it to my list.

Right now, I’m reading The Mothers by Brit Bennett. My guilty pleasure read last week was Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins. I surprisingly enjoyed it enough that I grabbed the sequel, Breathless, that came out a couple of months ago. Looks like I won’t get to The Red Car by Marcy Dermasky until next month.

It’s always nice to have a book to look forward to, though! Nothing wrong with that. How are you enjoying the above-mentioned books?

Yes! I enjoyed The Red Car – quick read last week – and The Mothers was a very interesting tale. I’ll get to Breathless later in the month. About to start on a book by a local author, Sadeqa Johnson.

I trudged through Leni Riefenstahl’s memoirs, which actually had interesting info about movie-making in Berlin back in the day. I’m currently reading Farley Mowat’s “Sibir”, about his trips to Siberia in the 1960s. Mowat is such a pleasure to read.

I bet that “trudged” is about right. Immensely talented and dynamic lady, with pretty abhorrent beliefs and actions. But, the movie-making aspect sounds wonderful.
I’ve never read anything by Farley Mowat, but will definitely add this to my list. It sounds mighty interesting.
